The Rain is Coming

July 2, 2010 by tpnielsen

“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit.” Leviticus 26:3-4

It’s beginning to rain! We could smell it coming and we were prepared for it but now we are overwhelmed by God’s goodness in sending the blessing of rain in the form of His provision! We thank you all so much for praying with us for the rains to come. After receiving an update from Africa Inland Mission yesterday, we learned that our monthly support has risen to 70% per month. That is so amazing! We keep wondering if we are dreaming! Sometimes it feels so refreshing just to stand in the rain and be drenched in the Water of Life!

With the funds that have accumulated in our outgoing account (by so many faithful givers) over the past three years added into our monthly support for a two year term, we are at a grand total of 96%! Needless to say, we are giddy–ecstatic! We had to check with our Director three times, “Are you sure those numbers are right?” We have purchased duffle bags to fill to the brim for our big move to Kenya! As Patti’s Dad used to say to her Mom, “You pack, I’ll pray!”

July 9–exactly one week from today–AIM must have all of our pledges/funds so that we can get clearance to leave on August 9. Please pray with us that the rains will keep coming until the “ground has yielded its crops and the trees of the field their fruit.” We cannot wait to see how God provides more rain in the next 7 days!

Have a blessed holiday weekend!

Ready for an umbrella,

Travis, Patti, Kylea, Joshua, Tia, and Levi
